October 8, 2019 marked the first annual Advantage Gives Back Day, where all of our Team Members across the states took the day to volunteer at a local nonprofit. Make a Difference is one of our five core values so we decided to take the day and put that value in action!

Advantage Gives Back is the social responsibility arm of Advantage|ForbesBooks  designed for all Team Members to give back to their community and participate in a range of activities with local communities and nonprofits. Each office under our organization joined forces with their community to dedicate time out of the office to give back.

The majority of our Team Members located in Charleston, South Carolina volunteered at the following places:

Team Members at the Ronald McDonald House participated in a variety of activities including sorting pop tabs, painting and cleaning.
This team worked to help level and organize classroom libraries at a local school.  Charleston Hope works within the school system, and is a great partner given our connection to books and education.
Team Members worked in one of the local community gardens and helped with upkeep and planting new plants.
This team partnered with the food bank to assist with the collection and sorting of food for distribution.
Our Tampa, Florida based team, News & Experts volunteered at Metropolitan Ministries and were busy cooking up meals for their community.
Remote Team Member Emily Fisher volunteered at Food Gatherers in Ann Arbor, Michigan to help collect and sort food for distribution across the county.
Tonya Pszcolka, another remote Team Member, volunteered at Paul’s Place Outreach in Baltimore, Maryland and prepared and served a hot lunch to her community.
Advantage|ForbesBooks is excited to launch this initiative that will take place annually benefitting communities across the United States. To see more fun from our special day, check out our Instagram and Facebook!
