Unlikely Partnerships

A recent article from Financial Times detailed how Hachette, Penguin and Simon & Shuster are joining forces for the kids. Well, kids’ e-books, that is. In trying to find a way to profit from e-books, they have decided to launch a single online entertainment brand called The Magic Town Platform. The platform will be a hub where kids aged from two to six can find a plethora of interactive e-books.

This just goes to show us that even competing companies can join forces and create something that they can all benefit from. By creating more of a central destination to drive demand and engagement, it’s a win-win for all involved, even the kids. We can all take a lesson from this case in that we should constantly be innovating and looking in partnership directions to increase profitability.
